Pt had chr.kidney dz stage IV (585.4), Doc did creation R.Brach-Ceph AVF (36821) and Exp/thrombectomy R.Ceph Vein. I don't think 36831 (thrombectomy,open AVF w/o revision) is right. Am I? Because doc created the R.Brach-Ceph AVF at same time. do you think 37799 would be the answer? (I tried to see between 34401-34490, and cannot see one) Can anybody help me find the right code if 37799 is wrong.

Hi George,
Why did the surgeon do the thrombectomy at the same time as creating the fistula?
Were they on separate arms?
